Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf wants to meet Bollywood producer-director Yash Chopra when the General visits India on Saturday.
Sources in Islamabad say Musharraf is very upset with the story of Veer-Zaara, which was produced and directed by Chopra.
In the hit movie, Shah Rukh Khan plays an Indian Air Force officer who falls in love with a Pakistani girl, and is illegally imprisoned in a Pakistan jail. After 22 years, a Pakistani lawyer (Rani Mukerji) rescues him.
Musharraf recently told a senior editor that Pakistan had never arrested or kept in confinement any IAF officer. The Pakistan President found it unfair of Chopra to 'show Pakistan in bad light.'
Chopra has been sent a special invitation for a dinner on April 17 at 8 pm in New Delhi's Taj Mansingh hotel.
The dinner is organised by Aziz Ahmed Khan, Pakistan's high commissioner in India, for select personalities from varied fields.
Musharraf is expected to convey his displeasure to Chopra in person.

it's not interesting! it was calculated, they pigged backed on the idea of two people from different rival countries falling in love, like some romeo and julliet, but they took the film into a political direction and of course wanted to make it look like that somehow the Indians were the victims and that they are somehow any better than Pakistanis.
I hadn't seen it, until I saw the ending about a few weeks ago, what crap. As much as it would be nice to have peace in our part of the world this film was baseless. Hopefully, Mushraff will give Chopra a piece of his mind.

Exactly--who cares. I think movies should be watched just as a movie. Don't bring religion/nationalism into it.

I am surprised, why would the president of Pakistan would care about such a movie? I see the source of the news is an indian website. Well that clears a lot of things and arifzeeshan I am impressed with your intelligence.

well why they say that media is a great power .. through media they spread news that Muslims are terrorists or through media any thing goes to those people who dont know anything and what they see that think it is true maybe .. so it is important to notice if you start to ignore things like this then there more will come and more i have never see in an indian movie that one muslim boys marry with hindu girl or one pakistani boy marry with indian girl they have always shown boys hindu or indian
and girl muslim or pakistan
why ? all the stories are like this ??

fazi, relax yaar. they've been making movies like dat for a loooooong time. infact, there'z a group in indian movie industry dat only makes movies against pakistan, muslims n da so-called voilence muslims inflicted during da partition. ( even thoght da voilence waz both wayz, moreso on da east of the border then west).
da fact of the matter is that media does have power. n they have a tendency to blow thangz way outta proportion but at the end of the day, ppl wid even a lil' bit of common sense know better.
and az far az u sayin' they show alwayz indian gyz marrying paki girls. that thang iz funny to me, 'se wut i see in everyday life here in US, da truth iz other way around. :style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif:

the indians are very good in propaganda movies. we all know that. i want to point out the other movie i think "main hoon na" the one where india decides to free pakistani prisoners or something like that and pakistan is not freeing any. well in reality it was totally the other way around isnt it. pakistan freed all the indian fishermen that were captive and india decided to do so afterwards. similarly, i doubt that an indian soldier or any military person would be kept in prison lfor something like this. if u recall, the 2 or 3 pilots that we captured after shooting down some indian planes, they were eventually let go. they were even shown on tv to show that we hadnt beaten them or anything like that. so i think mush is right in his criticism. dont know if talking to chopra will help but still.
