Mr. President and Mr. Short cut aziz.. ohh sorry Mr. Shaukat Aziz have been announcing WONDERFUL MASSICE growth of economy till last week. I don't know where is that economic growth, while the new minsiter, Ishaq Dar has released figures which are alarming as far as ecnomoy and food items are concerned. I wonder where is that ecnomic BOOM!!!

Here also, some people have been announcing the economic growth of Pakistan. I wish to see it on ground (or atleast proof)!

i think not only are all you guys wrong, but you are missing the point.
a) World food inflation was 40% this year. So we are doing much better than the world.
b) The problem is that prices are too low in our country. We should let the FREE MARKET determine the price. The stupid government reduces the prices and all the investors smuggle it out of the country to get more profit.
C) If we let market determine prices, prices will be higher. Higher prices will mean more profit for the farmers. More profit will mean more people will want to do farming. More people farming will mean more produce. More produce will mean demand is met and prices go down because we now have more.

I am sure naeem is not going to get this but lets hope the rest do.

BTW the first thing that our new prime minister did was to raise the price of wheat by 80 rupees. I agree with him.

Problem is that our media is new and they are just mad at how they got power and highlights many things in which we are far better then rest of world but they show in wrong way.

One Indian guy work with me, he just came from holidays in indian and he told me that onions are 40-45 Rs per KG in india but in Pakistan its around 25-30 and that's big different because india currency is stronger then ours. Not a single thing was cheaper then Pakistan from Potato to tomato etc but Indian media doesnt show such news on media because they know how to show country image and that's the reason they are getting lots of tourism and foreign investment then us who always cry small things.

today is 14 april and 2nd of Vasaki(Punjabi Month) that the date when people in Punjab start cutting wheat and within 1-2 weeks they start selling, hopefully in 2 weeks this wheat problem will be solved and if its still not solved then all i can say PPP will be fail in running government because April is the month when we get rehmat of wheat from our own land and that's enough for next one year unless government sell like they did last time.

The price of food has also gone up in the UK. Food prices are at its highest since 1991. On average it is estimated that approximately 1500 uk pounds will be spent.

Sorry i don't have time to add the links, but do a google search and you will see that the food price increase is not just in Pakistan.

Rice has gone up by approximately 37% (sad for the poor people around the world).
